The Light Will Never Abandon Us

There's a certain kind of respect, each one of us deserves
Who am I to point fingers, stomach in knots from nerves?
I have to take a back seat for a minute, put on my reading focals
If I am getting treated like this, how in my own ongoings am I treating locals?
I dont understand.

How can you say to my face -that you think I'm the next best thing-
seeing me everywhere, whistles and such, as every bell shall ring!
In ad's, on TV - even on billboards
Name in lights, cash pouring in -BY HORDES.

THEN, walk off - back to your desk in siberia
sitting there, contemplating all your deliria ?
For me then to never,
ever hear from you you again.
Abandonment, perhaps the greatest sin.

I have to take you, like I take the rest of them
With a grain of salt, thrown over the shoulder - in a whim.
Is that what I do?
I am sorry to all of those, I have treated in such disregard
As you've been sheltered in silence, from this bard.

There is only one answer, I must command
look deeper, closer, at the pebbles in the sand
dig up demons, that I have berried
Married lesser versions, far greater harried
anoint the past, of all regret
stand firm in knowing, my place will beget.

The light shall never abandon us.
